Something interesting has finally appeared! There's a chap by the name of Wilkins who runs a museum back on Old Earth, and he's doing an exhibition on the art of the Kataphrakti. They're a difficult bunch to get on with - they're roughly the same size as a light war walker, possesed of extremely strong chitinous armour and are faster than a chipped ostrich with a firework suppository, with tempers to match - but they produce a large amount of pottery and bronzeworks and he wants it for the museum. Now, when Wilkins tried to buy some of their ceremonial bronzes the Kataphrakti tried to bite off his face, so he's sending me in on a bit of a covert operation to get at one of them. He's given me half a dozen teleport tags, a fast cargo ship and a couple of guides/meatshields, so I expect this one'll turn out uglier than the war with the Fa Nu last year. What a mess that was...
I'm currently heading towards the Kataphrakti planet (Gal.Des. Kepler-6b) on the aforementioned cargo ship. The food's awful and the company consists of a retired clone soldier called Wallis with a thousand-yard stare and an American called Rick Dagnett with the politeness and good breeding of a cibiscosis bacillus. It'll be time for me to turn in shortly; I hope neither of the guides follows me.

Hail and Well-Met!
Ho there, fair subject of the Crown Imperial! My name is Cassandra Truman and I am a gentlewoman adventurer, which you will have ascertained from the address of this particular blog. Presently, I am in my estate on New Wessex (Gal.Des. Gliese 453) awaiting an interesting employment opportunity. I'm a fairly outdoorsy sort of girl, trekking on my hunter across the Downlands and having at any recalcitrant natives with Grandmama's old quad-barrelled fusion cannon. Honestly, just because your war-god has told you to smite the heretical offworlder doesn't mean you have to try...
Anyway, I'm scouring the periodicals for an expedition. I shall keep you posted!
